04 July 2008 - Independence Day did not get a lot of notice in Madrid, as you would expect. You could hear an occasional tourist mention it. That's about all.
We visited the Plaza de Toros today, and really enjoyed the museum they have at the site. It is interesting to learn the history of the bullring and learn about some of the famous names from the ring. Here are a few pictures at the plaza.
We met some friends from home, who are passing through Madrid on an Iberian Peninsula tour. We strolled around the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Plaza Santa Ana area. Though a little warm, the weather was great, as was the "ambiente."
Here's a photo of the group in the Plaza Mayor ...
... and the girls - in the Plaza Mayor and at the steps of the Arcos de Cuchilleros.
