20 June 2008 - Today I walked the Royal Mile (Canongate/High Street) from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to Edinburgh Castle on the hill. Along the way, I visited the Queens art collection of renaissance Italian artists, the new Scottish Parliament Building, the National Museum of Scotland, Royal Bank of Scotland, and a couple pubs.
Edinburgh Castle on the hill - one end of the Royal Mile ...
Holyroodhouse - the other end of the Roal Mile, the Queen's official Edinburgh residence.
I saw the Queen's collection of Italian renaissance art.
Some scenes along the Royal Mile walk ...
Old Assembly Close ...
A couple samples of stained glass windows in the Castle Chapel at the top of the hill.
A couple pubs - Greyfriars and Deacon Brodies Tavern.
I visited the new Scottish Parliament building - very contemporary design, with an "interesting" approach to seat design in the public gallery.
A couple views of Edinburgh from the hill ...
Kilts for hire ...

Have really been enjoying reading about your travels and seeing the photos. Makes me think it's time for a visit to the homeland - and that's before I see any England photos! Enjoy London.
Makes me homesick too! I am reading your blog in Las Vegas (109 degrees)!
